NIIT announces first nationwide TOEIC test

Global talent development and IT major, NIIT Corporation today announced that it will hold the first Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) test in India on September 28, 2008.
The test will be held at various locations across India including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR region, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. TOEIC test is a global standard for communicative English ability in the international workplace and is a part of Educational Testing Service (ETS) suite of products. The TOEIC test is a first of its kind joint initiative of NIIT and ETS to enhance employability and provide competitive advantage to Indian organisations in the global market place.

Scheduled to be held every month, the TOEIC test is priced at Rs 2495 with a special waiver for students desirous of taking up this assessment test.
As part of the preparation kit for the test, NIIT will provide aspiring candidates with an e-Learning CD that will contain the examinee handbook and a sample test, while attempting to quell all information seeking queries on TOEIC.
